Middle East Conflict

1. How Israeli got involved in the Arab-Israeli conflict is on Nov. 29, 1947, the UN agreed to divide Palestine into an Arab state and a Jewish state and to place Jerusalem under international control. The Jews in Palestine accepted this plan, but the Arabs rejected it. Fighting broke out immediately. The conflict has also involved a struggle by Palestinian Arabs to establish their own country in some or all of the land occupied by Israel.

2. The history of my country's involvement in the conflict from when it entered until now is the ancient Jewish kingdoms of Israel and Judea had been successively conquered and subjugated by several foreign empires, when in 135 CE the Roman Empire defeated the third revolt against its rule and consequently expelled the surviving Jews from Jerusalem and its surroundings, selling many of them into slavery. The Roman province was then renamed "Palestine". After the Arab conquest of Palestine in the 7th century the remaining inhabitants were mostly assimilated into Arab culture and Muslim religion, though Palestine retained Christian and Jewish minorities, the latter especially living in Jerusalem. Apart from two brief periods in which the Crusaders conquered and ruled Palestine and expelled the Jews and Muslims from Jerusalem, it was ruled by several Arab empires, and it became part of the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire in 1516. Israel has declared a formal end to its military rule of the Gaza strip. On 11 September 2005 the last 3,000 Israeli troops were pulled out. All 21 Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip had been dismantled, and the Israelis who had set up home in the Gaza Strip since the 1967 war were evicted.

3. My enemies in the Middle East are Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, Lebanon,Palestine because of a power struggle over land.

4. Israel don't have friends in the Middle East because they are at war with everybody.

5.What my country wants out of the Arab-Israeli conflict is a security to live their lives like they have been doing for the last decade with an end to the attacks. Also they want to be recognised as a Jewish state. They want a Jewish national homeland on both sides of the Jordan River; the territory encompassing both the countries of Israel and Jordan today was originally designated for a Jewish state.

6.Israel is willing to sacrifice a large portion of its homeland to end the conflict. Also reopen border crossings into the Gaza Strip for humanitarian reasons. Also to give Palestinians 97% of the territories, the PA already controlled 40% of the territories, containing 97% of the Palestinian population of the territories, with the remaining few percent to be made up with land connected to the Gaza Strip. And give Palestinians military control of eastern Jerusalem and even parts of the Old City. Administrative control of the Temple Mount, which overlooks the Western Wall, was also offered. This despite that the Temple Mount is Judaism's holiest site, and despite the occurrences of rocks being thrown by Muslims from the Temple Mount at Jews praying at the Wall. Israel also offered to allow many Palestinian refugees to return to Israel through family reunification, as well as giving compensation to those refugees who couldn't return.

7.Israel is not willing to let their Middle East counterparts smuggle weapons to the terrorist group Hamas. Also Israel is not in any way renouncing its claims to the Land of Israel.
